Welcome to ByteVerse ("Platform"), operated by SpectraVerse Technologies. These Terms govern your access to and use of ByteVerse.

Growth Actions: Activities available to users through ByteVerse campaigns. A Growth Action may include following an account, liking content, posting a WhatsApp Status, visiting a website, completing a survey, or other approved activities.

By using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service.

1. Platform Overview

ByteVerse is a digital platform that facilitates verified human interactions between brands and real users for marketing and engagement purposes.

All interactions on the platform are performed by real users under verification systems. No automated or artificial engagement systems are used.

2. Account Eligibility

To use ByteVerse, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Be at least 18 years old (or legal working age in your region)
• Reside in a supported African country
• Comply with all applicable laws and third-party platform policies

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and all activities under it.

3. Growth Action Completion Rules

All Growth Actions must be completed strictly according to the instructions provided.

• Growth Actions may be time-controlled based on your user plan
• Submissions are subject to verification (manual + automated systems)
• Fraudulent or manipulated submissions are strictly prohibited
• Repeated fraud attempts may result in suspension or permanent ban
• Earnings from invalid activity may be withheld
• By submitting proof, you agree that your screenshots may be shared with the campaign owner (a business or API Partner) as evidence of completion. A screenshot can show your public social media handle, display name, profile picture and view counts. Your handle may also appear on that campaign's results dashboard
• Do not include private or sensitive information in screenshots, such as private messages, other people's details, passwords, one-time codes or bank details

Users must engage honestly and in good faith at all times.

4. Campaigns

Campaigns run until completion of set targets. Campaign creators must ensure compliance with:

• All applicable laws and regulations
• Advertising standards and guidelines
• Third-party platform rules (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)

ByteVerse may reject or pause campaigns that violate policy or risk platform integrity. Campaign performance may vary and is not guaranteed.

5. Payments & Earnings

For Users

• Earnings are processed after verification
• Withdrawal timelines may vary (typically 24–72 hours)
• Minimum withdrawal thresholds apply
• Users are responsible for any applicable taxes on earnings

BY₵ Rewards

• Used for internal rewards and redemption (e.g. airtime/data via authorized partners)
• 500 BY₵ = ₦350 when converted/redeemed
• Expire after 30 days of account inactivity
• Not a legal currency — cannot be withdrawn directly as cash
• Hold no monetary value outside the ByteVerse platform

Referral Rewards

• Rewards are granted once referred users complete required verified Growth Actions
• Referrer receives: ₦100 + 10 BY₵ upon friend's 3rd approved Growth Action
• Referred user receives: ₦30 + 5 BY₵
• Rewards are one-time per referred user
• Fraudulent referrals will be disqualified

For Brands & Campaign Creators

• A 5% service/processing fee applies to each campaign
• Funds are held in escrow until Growth Action verification is complete
• Campaign fees are non-refundable once Growth Actions begin distribution

6. Fees & Plans

• Each plan upgrade includes a 5% service/processing fee
• Plan benefits may vary and can be updated with reasonable notice
• All pricing is transparent before campaign launch or plan purchase
• Upgraded plans include additional campaign slots, higher earning rates, and exclusive features

7. Prohibited Activities

Users must not:

• Create fake or multiple accounts
• Use bots, scripts, or any automation tools to complete Growth Actions or submit proof (the ByteVerse Partner API is approved only for managing campaigns, as set out in Section 8)
• Submit false or manipulated proof of Growth Action completion
• Attempt to exploit or bypass system rules
• Share confidential campaign information
• Violate third-party platform policies
• Engage in illegal, harmful, or abusive activities
• Reverse engineer, probe, or interfere with platform systems, or access them in any way other than through our apps and the documented Partner API
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the platform (API Partners may use the API to run campaigns for their own customers as described in Section 8)

8. Developer API & Partner Integrations

The ByteVerse Partner API lets approved businesses and platforms ("API Partners") create and manage campaigns, read verified results, and receive webhooks directly from their own products. Documentation is at developers.byteverseafrica.com. This section applies in addition to the rest of these Terms. If there is a conflict about use of the API, this section applies.

Access & API Keys

• API access is granted by ByteVerse on request. You receive a test key (sandbox) and a live key (production)
• You are responsible for all activity carried out with your keys
• Keep keys on your server, in a secrets manager or environment variables. Never place them in front-end code, public repositories, or shared documents
• Tell us immediately at support@byteverseafrica.com if a key may be exposed. We may revoke any key at any time to protect the platform
• Do not share, sell, or sublicense your keys or API access. You may use the API to run campaigns for your own customers inside your product, and you remain responsible for them

Campaigns Created Through the API

• Campaigns created through the API follow the same rules as any other campaign (Section 4) and are reviewed by ByteVerse before they run
• We may reject, pause, or cancel any campaign that breaks these Terms or third-party platform policies
• Campaigns are charged in naira from your ByteVerse wallet. The price is quoted before you create a campaign, and you are responsible for showing your own customers an accurate price
• You are charged only for verified Growth Actions. If a campaign is cancelled, the unspent budget is refunded to your wallet
• The sandbox uses play money and simulated results. It has no cash value, reaches no real people, and cannot be withdrawn or refunded

Acceptable Use of the API

• Stay within your rate limits (60 requests per minute per key by default, higher on request) and your key's permissions. Do not try to bypass them
• Do not access data that belongs to other accounts, or test, scan, or attack our systems
• Submission lists and results are anonymous. Proof screenshots for your own campaigns can show a Growth Partner's public social media handle, display name or profile picture. Use them only to confirm that an action was completed and for your own campaign records
• Do not republish, sell or share proof screenshots. Do not use them to contact, target, profile, harass or track Growth Partners, and do not combine them with other data to build profiles of individuals
• Keep proof links confidential, fetch them only when you need them, and delete them when you no longer need them or when we ask you to
• You are responsible for handling anything you receive from us in line with applicable data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023
• Only send us personal data that you have the right to share and that is needed for your campaign. Avoid placing personal data in free-form metadata fields

Webhooks

We send signed event notifications to the HTTPS endpoint you register. You are responsible for keeping your endpoint secure, verifying signatures, and handling repeated or late events. We make reasonable efforts to deliver events, but we do not guarantee delivery time or order.

Availability & Changes

• The API is provided "as is", with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability
• We may add, change, or retire API features. We will publish changes in the developer changelog and give reasonable notice of breaking changes
• We may suspend or revoke API access immediately for security reasons, misuse, breach of these Terms, or non-payment
• We are not liable for losses caused by your integration, exposed keys, or events delayed or missed because your endpoint was unavailable

9. Account Termination & Liability

Account Termination

Accounts may be suspended or terminated if:

• These Terms are violated
• Fraud or abuse is detected
• System integrity is compromised
• The account remains inactive for more than 6 consecutive months
• Required information is falsified
• Partner API keys are misused, shared, or exposed and not secured after notice

Upon termination, access is revoked and pending rewards may be withheld where violations exist. BY₵ expire immediately. You may not create new accounts without written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• ByteVerse is not liable for indirect or consequential damages
• We do not guarantee specific results, outcomes, or earnings
• We are not responsible for third-party platform actions or policy changes
• Total liability is limited to the amount paid in the last 12 months or $100 USD, whichever is lower

ByteVerse is also not liable for delays or failures resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, or internet service failures.

10. Data & Privacy

Your use of ByteVerse is governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect only the data necessary to:

• Operate the platform and user accounts
• Verify user activity and Growth Action submissions
• Process payments and earnings
• Improve system performance and security
• Provide, secure, and support the Partner API for approved businesses and platforms
• Share the proof you submit for a campaign with that campaign's owner, as described in the Privacy Policy

We do not sell personal data. By using ByteVerse, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications

ByteVerse may update features, pricing, or services at any time with reasonable notice (typically 30 days for material changes). We will notify users via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the platform and may delete your account.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, unless restricted by local law. You waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
